Ethambutol may suppress bacterial multiplication by interfering with RNA synthesis in susceptible bacteria that are actively dividing.

Interaction

Drug : antacids that contain aluminum hydroxide: Decreased absorption of ethambutol other neurotoxic drugs: Increased risk of neurotoxicity, such as optic and peripheral neuritis.
