Precautions while using 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye OintmentDo not use 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment if you are allergic to - Moxifloxacin
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
How 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment works4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment contains - Moxifloxacin
Moxifloxacin interferes with action of enzymes needed for bacterial replication. Inhibits topoisomerases I (DNA gyrase) and IV, impairing bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination.
Dosage of 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye OintmentThe dosage of 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Overdose of 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye OintmentIf you forget to take a dose of 4 Quin 0.5% w/w Eye Ointment, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.
If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.
Precautions & Warnings
InteractionDrug :- Aluminum hydroxide, aluminum-magnesium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, didanosine, magnesium hydroxide, multivitamins, products containing zinc: May interfere with GI absorption of moxifloxacin. Give moxifloxacin 4 hours before or 8 hours after these products.
Class IA antiarrhythmics (procainamide, quinidine), class III antiarrhythmics (amiodarone, sotalol): May increase risk of cardiac arrhythmias. Avoid using together.
Drugs that prolong QT interval (antipsychotics, erythromycin, TCAs): May have additive effect. Avoid using together.
Live-virus vaccines: May decrease effectiveness of live-virus vaccines. Don't give live-virus vaccines during therapy.
NSAIDs: May increase risk of CNS stimulation and seizures. Monitor patient and adjust treatment as needed.
Black Box Warning
Steroids: May increase risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture. Monitor patient for tendon pain or inflammation.
Sucralfate: May decrease absorption of moxifloxacin, reducing anti-infective response. If use together can't be avoided, give at least 6 hours apart.
Warfarin: May increase anticoagulant effects. Monitor PT and INR closely.
