The most common side effects of Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT are - Akathisia, Anxiety, Depression, Dizziness, Extrapyramidal Symptoms, Fatigue, Headache, Insomnia, Irritability, Somnolence

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT

Do not use Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT if you are allergic to - Asenapine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

The dosage of Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT

If you forget to take a dose of Alkepin 100mg Tablet DT, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- Alpha blockers (such as doxazosin, terazosin): May increase risk of hypotension. Use 1 together cautiously.

Antiarrhythmics, class IA (procainamide, quinidine) and class III (amiodarone, sotalol), antibiotics (gatifloxacin, moxifloxacin), antipsychotics (chlorpromazine, thioridazine, ziprasidone), citalopram: May prolong QTc interval, leading to lethal arrhythmias such as torsades de pointes. Avoid use together.

Antidepressants (fluvoxamine, imipramine, paroxetine): May increase asenapine level. Use together cautiously. Reduce paroxetine dosage by half if using with asenapine.

CNS agents (opioids): May enhance CNS depression. Use with caution.

Dextromethorphan, paroxetine: May increase dextromethorphan and paroxetine levels. Use together cautiously.

Metoclopramide: May increase risk of extrapyramidal reactions. Avoid administering together.

Black Box Warning- Opioids: May cause slow or difficult breathing, sedation, and death. Avoid use together. If use together is necessary, limit dosage and duration of each drug to the minimum necessary for desired effect.
