Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Anxiety Disorders, Depression

Side effects of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet are – Fever, Headache, Insomnia, Sleep Disturbance, Chest Pain, Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Diarrhea,Nausea, Vomiting

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet

Do not use Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Alprazolam

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet works

Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet contains – Alprazolam

Alprazolam may increase effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and other inhibitory neurotransmitters by binding to specific benzodiazepine receptors in limbic and cortical areas of the CNS.

Dosage of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet

The dosage of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Alzolam 0.25mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- Antacids: Altered alprazolam absorption rate Cimetidine, Disulfiram, Fluoxetine, Isoniazid, Metoprolol, Oral Contraceptives, Propoxyphene, Propranolol, Valproic Acid: Decreased alprazolam elimination and increased effects.

CNS Depressants: Possibly increased CNS effects of both drugs.

Digoxin: Possibly increased serum digoxin level, causing digitalis toxicity.

Itraconazole, ketoconazole: Possibly profoundly inhibited alprazolam metabolism.

Levodopa: Decreased effects of levodopa.

Neuromuscular Blockers: Possibly potentiated or antagonized effects of these drugs.

Phenytoin: Possibly increased serum phenytoin level, causing phenytoin toxicity.

Probenecid: Possibly faster onset or prolonged effects of alprazolam.

Ranitidine: Possibly reduced absorption of alprazolam.

Food :- Alcohol Use: Enhanced adverse CNS effects of alprazolam.
