Side effects of Amiject 500mg Injection

The most common side effects of Amiject 500mg Injection are – Phlebitis,Thrombophlebitis, Rash, Fever, Urticaria, Pruritus, Neuromuscular Blockade (Difficulty Breathing, Drowsiness, Weakness)

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Amiject 500mg Injection

Do not use Amiject 500mg Injection if you are allergic to – Amikacin

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Amiject 500mg Injection.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Amiject 500mg Injection works

Amiject 500mg Injection contains – Amikacin

Amikacin binds to negatively charged sites on bacteria’s outer cell membrane, disrupting cell integrity. Also binds to bacterial ribosomal subunits and inhibits protein synthesis. Both actions lead to cell death.

Dosage of Amiject 500mg Injection

The dosage of Amiject 500mg Injection depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Amiject 500mg Injection

If you forget to take a dose of Amiject 500mg Injection, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :- Cephalosporins, Enflurane, Methoxyflurane, Vancomycin: Increased nephrotoxic effects.

General Anesthetics: Increased risk of neuromuscular blockade.

Loop Diuretics: Increased risk of ototoxicity.

Neuromuscular Blockers: Possibly increased neuromuscular blockade and prolonged respiratory depression.

Penicillins: Possibly inactivation of or synergistic effects with amikacin.
