Uses of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup

Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infections caused by bacteria, such as Infections of the ear, nose, throat, genitourinary tract, skin and skin structure, and lower respiratory tract.

Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup is also used for the treatment of H. pylori infection and ulcer disease.

Side effects of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup

The most common side effects of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup are – Nausea, Vomiting, diarrhea, rash, changes in taste, headache.

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup

Do not use Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup if you are allergic to – Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid

Clavulanic Acid works by preventing bacteria from destroying amoxicillin.

Dosage of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup

The dosage of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup is usually taken every 12 hours (twice a day) or every 8 hours (three times a day) with or without food.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup

If you forget to take a dose of Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Symptoms of overdose with Amoxyclav 200mg/28.5mg Syrup – cloudy or bloody urine, decreased urination, swelling of any part of the body, confusion, nausea, vomiting.

Interaction

Drug :- allopurinol: Increased risk of rash.

chloramphenicol, erythromycins, sulfonamides, tetracyclines: Reduced bactericidal effect of amoxicillin.

methotrexate: Increased risk of methotrexate toxicity.

oral contraceptives with estrogen: Possibly reduced effectiveness of contraceptive.

probenecid: Increased amoxicillin effects.
