How Azenam 500mg Injection works

Azenam 500mg Injection contains - Aztreonam

Aztreonam inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis in susceptible aerobic gram-negative bacteria. These bacteria assemble rigid, cross-linked cell walls in several steps. Aztreonam affects the final cross-linking step by inactivating penicillin-binding protein 3 the enzyme that links cell wall strands, which causes cell lysis and death.

The dosage of Azenam 500mg Injection depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Azenam 500mg Injection

If you forget to take a dose of Azenam 500mg Injection, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction

Drug :- aminoglycosides prolonged or high-dose therapy: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity.

cefoxitin, imipenem: Possibly antagonized action of aztreonam.

furosemide, probenecid: Possibly increased blood aztreonam level.
