How Beta 50mg Tablet works

Beta 50mg Tablet contains - Atenolol

Atenolol inhibits stimulation of beta1-receptor sites, located mainly in the heart, decreasing cardiac excitability, cardiac output, and myocardial oxygen demand. Atenolol also acts to decrease release of renin from the kidneys, aiding in reducing blood pressure.

Dosage of Beta 50mg Tablet

The dosage of Beta 50mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Beta 50mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Beta 50mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction

Drug :- amiodarone: Additive atenolol effects calcium channel blockers, such as verapamil and diltiazem: Possibly symptomatic bradycardia and conduction abnormalities.

catecholamine-depleting drugs, such as reserpine: Additive antihypertensive effect.

clonidine: Rebound hypertension.

disopyramide: Increased risk of severe bradycardia, asystole, and heart failure.
