Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Angina Pectoris and Hypertension

Side effects of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet are – Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Fever, Lethargy, Light-Headedness, Short-Term Memory Loss, Vertigo

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet

Do not use Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Atenolol, Nifedipine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet works

Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet contains – Atenolol, Nifedipine

Atenolol inhibits stimulation of beta1-receptor sites, located mainly in the heart, decreasing cardiac excitability, cardiac output, and myocardial oxygen demand. Atenolol also acts to decrease release of renin from the kidneys, aiding in reducing blood pressure.

Nifedipine is thought to inhibit calcium ion influx across cardiac and smooth muscle cells, decreasing contractility and oxygen demand. Drug may also dilate coronary arteries and arterioles.

Dosage of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet

The dosage of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Overdose of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Betatrop 50mg/20mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Drug :- amiodarone: Additive atenolol effects calcium channel blockers, such as verapamil and diltiazem: Possibly symptomatic bradycardia and conduction abnormalities.

catecholamine-depleting drugs, such as reserpine: Additive antihypertensive effect.

clonidine: Rebound hypertension.

disopyramide: Increased risk of severe bradycardia, asystole, and heart failure.
