Chlorotame 50mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Intractable Hiccups, Schizophrenia

Side effects of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet are – Sleepiness, Akathisia, Dystonia, Dryness In Mouth, Constipation, Dizziness, Dryness In Mouth, Altered Taste, Abdominal Pain

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Chlorotame 50mg Tablet

Do not use Chlorotame 50mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Chlorpromazine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Chlorotame 50mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Chlorotame 50mg Tablet works

Chlorotame 50mg Tablet contains – Chlorpromazine

Chlorpromazine blocks the receptors that dopamine acts on and this prevents the overactivity of dopamine in the brain.

Dosage of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet

The dosage of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Chlorotame 50mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Drug :- amphetamines: Decreased amphetamine effectiveness, decreased antipsychotic effectiveness of chlorpromazine.

antacids aluminum hydroxide or magnesium trisilicate gel: Decreased chlorpromazine absorption and effectiveness.

barbiturates: Decreased plasma level and, possibly, effectiveness of chlorpromazine.

CNS depressants: Prolonged and intensified CNS depression.

metrizamide: Possibly lowered seizure threshold.

oral anticoagulants: Decreased anticoagulation.

phenytoin: Interference with phenytoin metabolism, increased risk of phenytoin toxicity.

propranolol: Increased plasma levels of both drugs.

thiazide diuretics: Possibly increased orthostatic hypotension.

Activity :- alcohol use: Prolonged and intensified CNS depression.
