Cloff 500mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Bacterial Infections (Skin and Respiratory), Stomach Ulcers

Side effects of Cloff 500mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Cloff 500mg Tablet are – Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness, Dryness In Mouth, Altered Taste, Abdominal Pain, Agitation

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Cloff 500mg Tablet

Do not use Cloff 500mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Clarithromycin

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Cloff 500mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Cloff 500mg Tablet works

Cloff 500mg Tablet contains – Clarithromycin

Clarithromycin inhibits RNA-dependent protein synthesis in many types of aerobic, anaerobic, grampositive, and gram-negative bacteria. By binding with the 50S ribosomal subunit of the bacterial 70S ribosome, clarithromycin causes bacterial cells to die.

Dosage of Cloff 500mg Tablet

The dosage of Cloff 500mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Cloff 500mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Cloff 500mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- astemizole, disopyramide, quinidine: Possibly prolonged QT interval or torsades de pointes.

carbamazepine, other drugs metabolized bycytochrome P450 enzyme system: Increased blood levels of these drugs.

cisapride, disopyramide, pimozide, quinidine, terfenadine: Increased risk of arrhythmias.

colchicine: Increased risk of colchicine toxicity.

digoxin: Increased serum digoxin level.

dihydroergotamine, ergotamine: Risk of acute ergot toxicity.

lovastatin, simvastatin: Risk of rhabdomyolysis oral anticoagulants: Potentiated anticoagulant effects.

rifabutin, rifampin: Decreased blood clarithromycin level by more than 50%.

sildenafil: Possibly prolonged blood sildenafil level.

theophylline: Increased blood theophylline level.

triazolam: Possibly increased CNS effects.

zidovudine: Decreased blood zidovudine level.
