Dilosyn 2.5 mg/100 mg/50 mg Expectorant contains - Methdilazine, Ammonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate

Methdilazine blocks the action of endogenous histamine, which subsequently leads to temporary relief of the negative symptoms brought on by histamine.

Ammonium Chloride irritates the bronchial mucosa, which causes the production of excess respiratory tract fluid, which presumably is easier to cough up.
