Interactions

Drug :- ACE inhibitors, cyclosporine, other potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium-containing drugs, potassium supplements: Increased risk of hyperkalemia.

digoxin: Possibly increased half-life of digoxin.

exchange resins sodium cycle, such as sodium polystyrene sulfonate: Increased risk of hypokalemia and fluid retention.

heparin, oral anticoagulants: Decreased anticoagulant effect of these drugs.

hypotension-producing drugs: Possibly potentiated antihypertensive or diuretic effect of spironolactone.

lithium: Possibly lithium toxicity NSAIDs, sympathomimetics: Decreased antihypertensive effect of spironolactone.

Food :- low-salt milk, salt substitutes: Increased risk of hyperkalemia.
