Interactions

Drug :- Aspirin and other antiplatelet agents/anticoagulants, heparin, NSAIDs, SNRIs, SSRIs, thrombolytics: May increase bleeding risk. Avoid use together.

Enoxaparin, naproxen: May increase antifactor Xa activity. Avoid use together. Strong dual inducers of CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein (P-gp) (carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampin): May decrease apixaban concentration. Avoid use together.

Strong dual inhibitors of CYP3A4 and P-gp (clarithromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, ritonavir): May increase apixaban concentration. Recommended dosage is 2.5 mg b.i.d., avoid use together in patients already taking 2.5 mg b.i.d.

Voraxapar: May increase bleeding risk. Avoid use together.

Herb :- Alfalfa, anise, bilberry: May increase bleeding risk. Consider therapy modification.

St. John's wort: May decrease apixaban concentration. Discourage use together.
