Uses of Endace 40mg Tablet

Endace 40mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Cancer (Breast, Endometrial, Anorexia, Cachexia)

Side effects of Endace 40mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Endace 40mg Tablet are – Confusion, Seizures, Depression, Headache, Neuropathy, Insomnia, Abnormal Thinking, Mood Changes, Fever, Asthenia, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Flatulence, Constipation, Dry Mouth, Increased Appetite, Abdominal, Pain, Dyspepsia Alopecia, Rash

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Endace 40mg Tablet

Do not use Endace 40mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Megestrol

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Endace 40mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Endace 40mg Tablet works

Endace 40mg Tablet contains – Megestrol

Megestrol inhibits hormone-dependent tumor growth by inhibiting pituitary and adrenal steroidogenesis. Drug may also have direct cytotoxicity, its appetite-stimulating mechanism is unknown.

Dosage of Endace 40mg Tablet

The dosage of Endace 40mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Endace 40mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Endace 40mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- Dofetilide: May increase dofetilide plasma level, increasing risk of life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, including torsades de pointes. Avoid use together.

Indinavir: May decrease exposure of indinavir. Consider increasing indinavir dosage when coadministering.

Rifamycins (rifampin): May increase megestrol metabolism due to induction of CYP3A4 pathway, reducing pharmacologic effects. Consider increasing megestrol dosage.
