Uses of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet

Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Premenstrual Dysmorphic Disorder

Side effects of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet are – Headache, Asthenia, Insomnia, Anxiety, Drowsiness, Nausea, Diarrhea, Decreased Appetite, Dizziness, Tremor, Fatigue, Vomiting, Constipation, Dry Mouth, Abdominal Pain, Nasal Congestion, Diaphoresis, Rash, Flushed Skin, Light-Headedness, Impaired Concentration

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet

Do not use Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Fluoxetine, Olanzapine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet works

Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet contains – Fluoxetine, Olanzapine

Fluoxetine it works by blocking the absorption of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain.

Olanzapine may achieve antipsychotic effects by antagonizing dopamine and serotonin receptors. Anticholinergic effects may result from competitive binding to and antago-nism of the muscarinic receptors M1 through M5.

Dosage of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet

The dosage of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Overdose of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction

Drug :- NSAIDS, antiplatelets, anticoagulants may increase risk of bleeding. Alcohol, other CNS depressants may increase CNS depression. MAOIs may produce serotonin syndrome and neuroleptic malignant syndrome. May increase concentration/toxicity of phenytoin, tricyclic antidepressants.

Herbs :- Gotu kola, kava kava, St. John's wort, valerian may increase CNS depression. St. John's wort may increase effects, risk of serotonin syndrome.

Lab Values :- May decrease serum sodium. May increase AST, ACT.
