Hytrin 1mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):
Hypertension, High Blood Pressure, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Side effects of Hytrin 1mg Tablet
The most common side effects of Hytrin 1mg Tablet are – Dizziness, Headache, Lethargy, Constipation, Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Arthralgia, Back Pain, Weight Gain
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while using Hytrin 1mg Tablet
Do not use Hytrin 1mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Terazosin
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Hytrin 1mg Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
How Hytrin 1mg Tablet works
Hytrin 1mg Tablet contains – Terazosin
Terazosin blocks postsynaptic alpha1-adrenergic receptors in many tissues, including vascular smooth muscle, the bladder neck, and the prostate. This action promotes vasodilation, which reduces blood pressure and improves urine flow.
Dosage of Hytrin 1mg Tablet
The dosage of Hytrin 1mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Overdose of Hytrin 1mg Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Hytrin 1mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction
Drug :- clonidine: Possibly decreased clonidine effects.
diuretics, other antihypertensives: Additive hypotensive effect.
dopamine: Risk of decreased terazosin effects and antagonized vasoconstrictive effect of dopamine in high doses.
epinephrine: Risk of decreased terazosin effects, possibly severe hypotension and tachycardia.
indomethacin, other NSAIDS: Altered terazosin effects related to sodium and fluid retention.
methoxamine, phenylephrine: Decreased vasopressor effects, and shortened duration of action of these drugs.
phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, verapamil: Additive blood pressure-lowering effects and symptomatic hypotension.
sympathomimetics: Decreased terazosin effects.
