Megalop 2mg Capsule is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Diarrhea, Gastroenteritis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Short Bowel Syndrome

Side effects of Megalop 2mg Capsule

The most common side effects of Megalop 2mg Capsule are – Dizziness, Drowsiness, Constipation, Fatigue, Dry Mouth, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Discomfort

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Megalop 2mg Capsule

Do not use Megalop 2mg Capsule if you are allergic to – Loperamide

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Megalop 2mg Capsule.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Megalop 2mg Capsule works

Megalop 2mg Capsule contains – Loperamide

Loperamide slows down the movement of the gut. This decreases the number of bowel movements and makes the stool less watery.

Dosage of Megalop 2mg Capsule

The dosage of Megalop 2mg Capsule depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Megalop 2mg Capsule

If you forget to take a dose of Megalop 2mg Capsule, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Overdose symptoms – Nausea, vomiting, liver and cardiac problems.

Onset of Action Megalop 2mg Capsule

It takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to show the effect of the medicine.

Duration of Action Megalop 2mg Capsule

Effect of medication lasts for an average of 9 to 14 hours.

Precautions & Warnings

Alcohol

Don't consume alcohol while taking this medicine. Adverse effects symptoms - dizziness; drowsiness; and hyperactivity disorder.

Pregnancy

Not recommended for pregnant women. Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Not recommended for breastfeeding women. Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Driving

Not safe during driving; you may feel dizzy; sleepy or tired after taking this medicine.

Kidney

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Liver

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
