Side effects of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR

The most common side effects of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR are – Headache, Dizziness, Syncope, Contact Dermatitis, Rash, Weakness, Orthostatic Hypotension, Nausea, Vomiting, Tachycardia, Flushing, Palpitations, SL Burning, Cutaneous Vasodilation, Hypersensitivity Reactions

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR

Do not use Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR if you are allergic to – Nitroglycerin/Glyceryl Trinitrate

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR works

Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR contains – Nitroglycerin/Glyceryl Trinitrate

Nitroglycerin reduces cardiac oxygen demand by decreasing left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and to a lesser extent, systemic vascular resistance. Also increases blood flow through the collateral coronary vessels.

Dosage of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR

The dosage of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR

If you forget to take a dose of Monit GTN 2.6mg Tablet CR, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- Alteplase: May decrease tissue plasminogen activator antigen level. Avoid using together, if unavoidable, use lowest effective dose of nitroglycerin.

Antihypertensives: May increase hypotensive effect. Monitor BP closely.

Heparin: I.V. nitroglycerin may interfere with anticoagulant effect of heparin. Monitor PTT.

Riociguat: May cause hypotension. Avoid use together.

Sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil: May cause severe hypotension. Use of nitrates in any form with these drugs is contraindicated.
