Interactions
Drug :- Acyclovir, amphotericin B, cephalosporins, cidofovir, cisplatin,
methoxyflurane, vancomycin, other aminoglycosides:
May increase nephrotoxicity. Monitor renal
function test results.
Anesthetics, neuromuscular blockers (e.g., decamethonium, succinylcholine,
tubocurarine):
May increase effects of nondepolarizing muscle relaxants, including prolonged
respiratory depression and respiratory paralysis. Use together only when necessary, and expect to
reduce dosage of nondepolarizing muscle relaxants. Mechanical ventilation may be needed.
Digoxin:
May decrease digoxin absorption. Monitor digoxin level.
I.V. loop diuretics (furosemide):
May increase ototoxicity. Monitor patient's
hearing.
Oral anticoagulants:
May inhibit vitamin K-producing bacteria, may increase anticoagulant effect.
Monitor PT and INR.
