How OF 50mg/5ml Suspension works

OF 50mg/5ml Suspension contains - Ofloxacin

Ofloxacin inhibits synthesis of the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase by counteracting excessive supercoiling of DNA during replication or transcription. Inhibition of DNA gyrase causes rapid- and slow-growing bacterial cells to die.

Dosage of OF 50mg/5ml Suspension

The dosage of OF 50mg/5ml Suspension depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of OF 50mg/5ml Suspension

If you forget to take a dose of OF 50mg/5ml Suspension, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction

Drug :- aluminum-, calcium-, or magnesiumcontaining antacids, didanosine, ferrous sulfate, magnesium-containing laxatives, multivitamins, sevelamer, sucralfate, zinc: Decreased absorption of oral ofloxacin.

probenecid: Decreased ofloxacin excretion, increased risk of toxicity.

procainamide: Decreased renal clearance of procainamide.

warfarin: Possibly increased anticoagulant activity and risk of bleeding.
