Uses of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet

Olisur 2.5mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression)

Side effects of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet are – Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Headache, Insomnia, Constipation, Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Olisur 2.5mg Tablet

Do not use Olisur 2.5mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Olanzapine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Olisur 2.5mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Olisur 2.5mg Tablet works

Olisur 2.5mg Tablet contains – Olanzapine

Olanzapine may achieve antipsychotic effects by antagonizing dopamine and serotonin receptors. Anticholinergic effects may result from competitive binding to and antago-nism of the muscarinic receptors M1 through M5.

Dosage of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet

The dosage of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Olisur 2.5mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :- anticholinergics: Increased anticholinergic effects, altered thermoregulation.

antihypertensives: Increased effects of both drugs, increased risk of hypotension.

benzodiazepines parenteral: Increased risk of excessive sedation and cardiorespiratory depression.

carbamazepine, omeprazole, rifampin: Increased olanzapine clearance.

CNS depressants: Additive CNS depression, potentiated orthostatic hypotension.

diazepam: Increased CNS depressant effects.

fluvoxamine: Decreased olanzapine clearance.

levodopa: Decreased levodopa efficacy.

lorazepam parenteral: Possibly increased somnolence with I.M. olanzapine injection.

Activity :- alcohol use: Additive CNS depression, potentiated orthostatic hypotension.

smoking: Decreased blood olanzapine level.
