Parkitidin 100mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Parkinson’s Disease, Respiratory Tract Infections Due to Influenza Virus

Side effects of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet are – Nausea, Dizziness, Poor Concentration, Insomnia, Nervousness, Orthostatic Hypotension, Anorexia, Headache, Livedo Reticularis, Blurred Vision, Urinary Retention, Dry Mouth or Nose, Agitation, Confusion, Hallucinations, Vomiting, Depression, Irritation or Swelling of Eyes, Rash

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Parkitidin 100mg Tablet

Do not use Parkitidin 100mg Tablet if you are allergic to – Amantadine

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Parkitidin 100mg Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Parkitidin 100mg Tablet works

Parkitidin 100mg Tablet contains – Amantadine

Amantadine can block the multiplying of influenza A virus in the body. In patients with Parkinson’s disease and drug-induced movement disorders, amantadine increases the effect of a chemical in your brain called dopamine.

Dosage of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet

The dosage of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Parkitidin 100mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :- Anticholinergics or other drugs with Anticholinergic activity, other Antidyskinetics, Antihistamines, Phenothiazines, Tricyclic Antidepressants: Possibly increased anticholinergic effects and risk of paralytic ileus.

Carbidopa-Levodopa, Levodopa: Increased effectiveness of these drugs.

CNS Stimulants: Excessive CNS stimulation, possibly causing arrhythmias, insomnia, irritability, nervousness, or seizures.

Hydrochlorothiazide, Triamterene: Possibly decreased amantadine clearance and increased risk of toxicity.

Live-virus Vaccines: Possibly interference with vaccine effectiveness.

Quinidine, Quinine, Trimethoprim Sulfamethoxazole: Increased blood amantadine level.

Food :- Alcohol Use: Possibly increased risk of CNS effects including confusion, dizziness, and light-headedness and orthostatic hypotension.
