Interactions
Drug :-
QTc interval-prolonging drugs:
May increase QTc interval and risk of ventricular
arrhythmias. Monitor therapy.
Quinacrine:
May increase risk of toxicity. Avoid concomitant use.
Vaccine (rabies):
May decrease antibody response to rabies vaccine. International travelers should
complete a three-dose rabies vaccination series before starting primaquine. If this isn't possible, the
rabies vaccine should be given intramuscularly and not intradermally.
Food :-
Grapefruit juice:
May increase drug plasma concentration and toxic effects. Advise
patient to avoid grapefruit products.
