Interactions

Drug :- CNS depressants: May cause excessive CNS depression. Use together cautiously.

Donepezil, doxepin: May increase ramelteon level. Monitor patient closely.

Strong CYP1A2 inhibitor (fluvoxamine): May increase ramelteon level. Don't use together.

Strong CYP2C9 inhibitor (fluconazole), strong CYP3A4 inhibitor (ketoconazole), weak CYP1A2 inhibitors: May increase ramelteon level. Use together cautiously.

Food :- Food (especially high-fat meals): May delay time to peak drug effect. Tell patient to take drug on an empty stomach.
