Resteclin 500mg Capsule is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Bacterial Infections (Infections of the Skin, Intestines, Respiratory Tract, Urinary Tract)

Side effects of Resteclin 500mg Capsule

The most common side effects of Resteclin 500mg Capsule are – Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea, Hepatotoxicity, Nausea, Vomiting

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Resteclin 500mg Capsule

Do not use Resteclin 500mg Capsule if you are allergic to – Tetracycline

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Resteclin 500mg Capsule.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Resteclin 500mg Capsule works

Resteclin 500mg Capsule contains – Tetracycline

Tetracycline works by binding specifically to the 30S ribosome of the bacteria, preventing attachment of the aminoacyl tRNA to the RNA-ribosome complex. It simultaneously inhibits other steps of the protein biosynthesis.

Dosage of Resteclin 500mg Capsule

The dosage of Resteclin 500mg Capsule depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Resteclin 500mg Capsule

If you forget to take a dose of Resteclin 500mg Capsule, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :- aluminum-, calcium-, or magnesium-containing antacids, iron supplements oral, magnesium-containing laxatives, magnesium salicylate, multivitamins containing manganese or zinc salts, sodium bicarbonate: Possibly impaired absorption of oral tetracycline and formation of nonabsorbable complexes.

cholestyramine, colestipol: Possibly impaired absorption of oral tetracycline.

digoxin: Possibly increased digoxin level.

methoxyflurane: Possibly nephrotoxicity.

oral contraceptives containing estrogen:Possibly reduced contraceptive reliability and increased risk of breakthrough bleeding with long-term tetracycline use.

penicillins: Possibly decreased bactericidal effect of penicillins.

vitamin A: Possibly benign intracranial hypertension.

Food :- dairy products and other foods: Possibly impaired absorption of oral tetracycline.
