The most common side effects of Torvigress 20mg Tablet are - Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Headache,Hypotension,Constipation, Diarrhea, Indigestion, Nausea, Thirst, Vomiting, Muscle Spasms, Dehydration

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Torvigress 20mg Tablet

Do not use Torvigress 20mg Tablet if you are allergic to - Torasemide

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Torvigress 20mg Tablet.

How Torvigress 20mg Tablet works

Torvigress 20mg Tablet contains - Torasemide

Torasemide blocks active sodium and chloride reabsorption in the ascending loop of Henle by promoting rapid excretion of water, sodium, and chloride. Torsemide also increases the production of renal prostaglandins, increasing the plasma renin level and renal vasodilation. As a result, blood pressure falls, reducing preload and afterload.

Dosage of Torvigress 20mg Tablet

The dosage of Torvigress 20mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Torvigress 20mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Torvigress 20mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interaction

Drug :- ACE inhibitors, antihypertensives: Additive hypotension.

amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene: Possibly counteracted torsemide-induced hypokalemia.

amphotericin B: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity and severe, prolonged hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia.

cisplatin: Increased risk of significant hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia, possibly permanent ototoxicity.

cortisone, fluorocortisone, hydrocortisone: Increased risk of sodium retention and hypokalemia.

digoxin: Increased risk of arrhythmias and digitalis toxicity due to hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia.

indomethacin: Possibly decreased diuretic and antihypertensive effects of torsemide and increased risk of renal failure.

lithium: Possibly lithium toxicity.

metolazone, thiazide diuretics: Increased risk of severe fluid and electrolyte loss.

neuromuscular blockers: Possibly increased neuromuscular blockade due to hypokalemia.

probenecid: Possibly decreased diuretic effect of torsemide.

quinidine and other ototoxic drugs: Increased risk of ototoxicity.

salicylates: Increased risk of salicylate toxicity.

Activity :- alcohol use: Additive diuresis and, possibly, dehydration.
