The most common side effects of Valrate 300 Tablet CR are - Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of Appetite, Sleepiness, Hair Loss, Weight Gain, Abnormal Liver Function , Tremor
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Valrate 300 Tablet CR
Do not use Valrate 300 Tablet CR if you are allergic to - Sodium Valproate, Valproic Acid
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Valrate 300 Tablet CR.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Valrate 300 Tablet CR contains - Sodium Valproate, Valproic Acid
Sodium Valproate prevents epileptic fits by stabilising excessive electrical activity in the brain. It is thought to achieve this in two ways: by increasing the activity of a natural 'nerve-calming' agent called GABA in the brain, and by preventing electrical signals from building up in nerve cells in the brain.
Valproic acid works in the same way as sodium valproate, by preventing the excessive electrical activity in the brain. It is thought to achieve this by increasing the activity of a neurotransmitter called GABA in the brain.

The dosage of Valrate 300 Tablet CR depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Onset of Action of Valrate 300 Tablet CR
If you forget to take a dose of Valrate 300 Tablet CR, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.
