Uses of Veltam-F Tablet

Veltam-F Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

Side effects of Veltam-F Tablet

The most common side effects of Veltam-F Tablet are – Fever, Headache, Insomnia, Sleep Disturbance, Chest Pain, Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Diarrhea,Nausea, Vomiting

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Veltam-F Tablet

Do not use Veltam-F Tablet if you are allergic to – Tamsulosin, Finasteride low strength

If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Veltam-F Tablet.

If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

How Veltam-F Tablet works

Veltam-F Tablet contains – Tamsulosin, Finasteride low strength

Tamsulosin blocks alpha1-adrenergic receptors in the prostate. This action inhibits smoothmuscle contraction in the prostate, prostatic capsule, prostatic urethra, and bladder neck, which improves the rate of urine flow and reduces symptoms of BPH.

Finasteride low strength has shown to decrease scalp DHT concentration to the levels found in hairy scalp, reduce serum DHT, increase hair regrowth, and slow hair loss.

Dosage of Veltam-F Tablet

The dosage of Veltam-F Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Overdose of Veltam-F Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Veltam-F Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Interaction

Drug :- alpha blockers: Additive effects of both drugs.

cimetidine: Risk of decreased tamsulosin clearance.

CYP2D6 inhibitors such as fluoxetine, paroxetine, terbinafine, CYP3A4 inhibitors such as erythromycin, ketoconazole: Possibly increased plasma tamsulosin level.

phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors: Increased risk of hypotension.
