Coronavirus Spreading Its Claws In All Directions

With no vaccines yet discovered, Coronavirus seems to be on a rampage in its origin China and even going across borders. The outbreak that possibly took place in Wuhan, have had a far reach, while containment measures are the only assurance we can hope for the time being.

China, being the epicenter of the COVID-19 virus, has suffered the most fatalities. And on Saturday, China reported a fresh report of 47 deaths within a 24 hours time period. Adding this new amount, the death toll in the country reached 2,835.

Apart from records of death from the virus, the spread of infection reached a new high in China with 427 new cases marked by National Health Commission. With that, the total COVID-19 infected people in China reached up to 79,251.

Among the new 427 cases, a majority of 420 new cases were reported in the capital Wuhan, while Hubei recorded 4 new cases and 45 deaths and has been under quarantine for over a month. Though Saturday’s death toll is a bit higher than Friday’s report of 327 deaths, China has a lot fewer new cases being registered these than the time when the first outbreak happened.

Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) has mentioned earlier this week, that new cases in China have dropped down, while the rest of the world seems to be affected more with an increase in daily cases. WHO raising the stakes of global risk from ‘high’ to ‘very high’ makes the situation even more alarming.

On Friday, health officials of Calfornia reported a second suspected case of Coronavirus transmission, while the previous one was only registered on Thursday.

In both cases, the victims came in contact with the COVID-19 virus, despite traveling to places known to have been affected by the COVID-19 virus or have not met anybody ill or traveled abroad to have contacted the virus from out of the country. This, however, enlarged the fear of community transmission in the United States.

62 people have been recorded to have been infected by the COVID-19 virus in the United Staes, according to the reports of the Centers for Disease Control. 33 people have also been tested positive for Coronavirus in California, confirmed by Governor Gavin Newsom.

COVID-19’s reach seems to be going deep, as Iceland also recorded its first case in a man, who had just returned the subarctic island from northern Italy but have not traveled to affected areas. Coronavirus virus has spread its fear over the world, while containment is an option, but community transfer cases seem to elevate the fear.
